After work Monday I went to a town called Pontiac, IL to play a round of disc golf as its a cheap way to pass the time instead of sitting in the hotel.
After playing I looked up some places to eat, one place the kitchen was closed at 4pm and across the street was this old filling station with a bunch of cars. Some looked to be customs in the 90's & parked.

If you have a car, drive a bit north toward Chicagoland Speedway and follow signs to the Autobahn Country Club. If people are out on the track, you can sit on an road outside the club and watch some fine machinery get thrashed about.

Stayed in Roanoke as echange student, about 30 miles west.
Probably all those cars were around there back then, save the S-10.

How was the disc golf course? From the map, it looks pretty flat, but it seems to have plenty of tree hazards.

I saw the green Silverstreak and I thought of God yes! Then I saw the 57 two door post Chiefton! Can you send me the 57 down to Miami??
FYI The Buick station wagon is an 8 cylinder model. It has 4 port holes on each side. The 6 cylinders only have 3 port holes on each side. It is a quick way to tell what engine is or was in them.

Yah, that’s my metro in first and last shots.
I may check it out tomorrow. Is there any days that for sure get track use? It's raining today so I doubt they'd be out.

It is along Route 66, just closer to beginning rather than end. More cornfields than deserts.

Flat, typical small town park course. Couple water hazards, like 18 you can tee up across the river or cross bridge and start from other side.
I threw across the river and the disc stopped on the bank.
Of course I bogeyed the first 2 holes then didn’t bother keeping score.
There was an abandoned public pool there built in the 20's.

http://autobahncc.com/events-calenda… here’s a list of events, but since it’s a private country club, members might be out on days without something going on.

The course I learned on had a nasty right-hander over a pond requiring a forearm, left-handed, or severe anhyzer throw. The anhyzer throw was particularly frustrating since discs tended to hit on the edge and roll into the pond anyway. Someone would dive the pond a couple of times a year to retrieve discs. I got a couple back from him with a small “reward” for his time, but I think he finally started removing names and selling the discs.
Other than the pond, that course was exactly as you described.

Sounds like things got dicey weather-wise last night. Are you OK?

It rained a bunch, the tornados were north of me. I think I stayed up until it was raining pretty hard I case I needed to take pillow, sheets, & blanket into tub.
